About the Report

This report covers the most common and simplest empirical demand forecasting techniques, namely the linear and nonlinear empirical demand specification models, time-series analysis, and dummy variable technique.

These models and techniques are tackled in groups of two in the following posts: "Empirical Demand Functions: Linear and Nonlinear Regression Analyses" and "Seasonal and Cyclical Variation and Dummy Variable Technique".  Embedded in the posts are sample and technical problems that help illustrate the concepts discussed.  Applied problems and the corresponding solutions are likewise provided in two separate posts. Videos are also used to introduce more sophisticated demand forecasting techniques and to amplify the value of the learning that can be gained from this report.

The report further discusses the qualititative tecnhiques against the backdrop of the frequently encountered problems or challenges in using quantitative forecasting techniques.
